Lewisville has a short-term rental problem

Updated: Aug 27, 2023

The Dallas Morning News recently published a thoughtful story about the fight over short-term rentals. Written by Myah Taylor, Collin County reporter, the story outlines local cities fight to prohibit short-term rentals (STRs) in the city’s single-family residential neighborhoods. She further describes the City of Plano's progress to adopt zoning ordinances similar to those in Arlington, where short-term rentals have successfully been prohibited in single-family residential districts.

Now that Dallas, Plano, Arlington, Grapevine and other cities have banned STR's, prerfatory investors are targeting Lewisville properties. Lewisville lies open and unprotected from this cancer. Join tnclewisville.org now to save your neighborhood. However STR's are specifically not mentioned as an allowed use of a property in Lewisville.

About TNC Lewisville

The Lewisville chapter of the Texas Neighborhood Coalition came into existence when a group of Lewisville residents saw a clear and present danger caused by Short Term Rentals in our neighborhoods. These commercial operations are violating Lewisville's existing zoning ordinance for residential districts. Go to the TNC website to find other chapters and get more information about TNC.
